The Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is responsible for the development and execution of the organizations marketing strategy and is accountable for the impact of a full-service Marketing team.
The two primary objectives are (1) generating profitable revenue opportunities for the bank by bringing customers and prospects to the physical and virtual doorstep; and (2) stewarding the brand.
This position is an integral part of the senior management team and has oversight and responsibility for all marketing and brand creative to achieve the banks goals and objectives for revenue growth, profitability, customer acquisition and advertising effectiveness, while ensuring a consistent brand message aligned with corporate strategy.
Responsibilities Leads and manages the marketing team in meeting the marketing needs of the Company:
research; marketing planning and analyses; brand strategy; budgeting; advertising; sales promotion; social, direct, and digital marketing; segmentation, marketing data, and automation; public relations; media relations; compliance; and corporate shareholder communications.
Develops and executes annual marketing plans and budget for the Company:
commercial banking, small business banking, retail banking, and wealth management.
Works with line of business, regional and branch leadership to manage resources to achieve their annual goals.
Provides strategic leadership and oversight of the following functional creative/brand areas:
Creative:
Lead development of compelling and innovative external marketing campaigns, materials, and assets.
Oversee the creation of engaging visuals, messaging, and content that resonate with the target audience and reflect the brands identity.
Digital Marketing and Commerce:
Drive digital marketing strategies and initiatives to enhance customer engagement, acquisition, and retention.
Leverage digital channels, including websites, email marketing, search engine marketing, and mobile applications, to drive business growth.
Social Media:
Develop and direct social media strategies to extend brand presence, engage with customers, and drive social media performance metrics.
Monitor social media trends, conversations, and user feedback to inform marketing strategies and enhance customer experiences.
Media:
Develop and implement strategic media plans to maximize brand exposure and reach.
Collaborate with media agencies to optimize media buying, planning, and execution across traditional and digital channels.
Provides marketing leadership for various product and business development initiatives for the Company, including high-quality collateral materials and sales proposals.
Oversees the production of the annual report, as well as other corporate and shareholder communications.
With and through other members of senior management, leads various internal communications as a champion for the MidWestOne brand and company culture.
Leads various influential branding efforts via channels that utilize the voices of MidWestOnes associates (employee testimonials, focus groups, and internal communications strategies).
Participates in community affairs, increasing and enhancing the Companys visibility and new business opportunities.
Ensures that MidWestOne has effective community presence throughout the footprint to illustrate our ongoing support as community bankers.
Tracks and reports key performance indicators as described in the Companys annual marketing plans.
Monitors and analyzes media performance (ROI) to inform future strategies.

Qualifications Bachelors degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or similar area or equivalent combination of post high school education and a minimum of 10 years related work experience in a regional bank marketing administration and management of people, including:
strong knowledge of bank marketing and compliance; development and leadership of marketing strategy; digital/technology marketing; website administration; research, analyses; aligning with financial institution goals and objectives; media production and advertising; CRM; knowledge of public company compliance considerations; internal and external communications and public relations, publishing, art, and design.
Certified Financial Marketing Professional designation is highly desired.
